Do you trust these people running Victoria?

Steve Bracks says he’s a new style of leader, but behind him there’s the same old narrow, union dominated Labor that brought Victoria to its knees under Cain and Kirner, costing thousands of jobs and the life savings of many.

Of the people now in charge under Labor

• 6 are former advisers to failed Labor governments

• 6 are former trade union officials

• 8 are ALP factional bosses or former staff members for Labor MPs.

• 5 haven’t even served in Parliament before

• only 2 represent non-metropolitan electorates.

Here are some examples:

Steve Bracks – former adviser to John Cain and Joan Kirner

John Thwaites – former Ministerial adviser to the Cain and Kirner governments – would be put in charge of both health and planning – a recipe for disaster!

Candy Broad – former adviser to Joan Kirner, ALP assistant national secretary, hasn’t even been an MP before - would be in charge of energy and resources and our ports, areas vital for our economic future

Peter Bachelor – former Furnishing Trades Union official and ALP state secretary – would have control of our transport system

Marsha Thomson – secretary of the Labor Unity faction, hasn’t been an MP before – would take charge of small business and consumer affairs

Gavin Jennings – adviser to Joan Kirner and secretary of the Socialist Left faction, hasn’t been an MP before – would be Secretary to the Cabinet

John Pandazopoulos – union official and part-time fast food outlet manager – would take charge of major projects involving millions of dollars, as well as gaming and tourism.

See Labor's Front Bench for full details of the employment history and factions, where known, of Labor's lineup.
