An extra 101 services per week will be added to V/Line Passenger timetables from December 6.

The improvements follow extensive consultation with V/Line patrons and regional communities on the best and most efficient use of public transport resources.

The improvements include the following:

  • 30 extra train services per week on the Sunbury, Kyneton and Bendigo line
  • 26 extra train services per week on the Craigeburn, Kilmore East and Seymour line
  • 23 extra trains on the Melton, Bacchus Marsh and Ballarat line
  • 22 new services per week to Warragul, which will now be provided by diesel rail cars with superior facilities to the suburban electric trains presently used
  • 22 extra coach services per week between Traralgon, Sale and Maffra
  • A more efficient train/coach service between Melbourne and Daylesford, which will reduce travelling time by 30 minutes
  • The Ballarat-Stawell-Horsham coach service will be rescheduled to offer eight extra trip choices per week.

Copies of the new timetables will be available from V/Line stations from late November or by phoning V/Line Passenger on 13 22 32.
