New Multi-Purpose Services for rural health

The Victorian Government plans to establish up to five new Multi-Purpose Services (MPSs) over the next year to expand health and primary care services in small rural communities.

MPSs are a joint Victorian and Commonwealth initiative, which pool funding from various government sources to provide services geared to local needs without the constraints of existing funding guidelines.

MPSs can also pool the resources of a number of small and costly local facilities and enable them to come together to change the mix and range of services provided within more isolated communities.
