Agencies improve Y2K readiness State Government agencies have lifted the percentage of essential computer systems ready for the Millennium Bug from an average of 89% to 92%, according to the latest monitoring report. Agencies have also increased their average completion of contingency planning from 63% to 72% a month earlier. Some agencies, including some local government authorities, have failed to show significant improvement in the past month and some have had some minor reverses. Those that did register significant improvement in readiness include rural region ambulances (up 31.75%), south metropolitan region community services (58.62%), electricity transmission sector (12.42%), eastern region councils (29.81%) and Frankston City Council (56.7%).
