Winter energy concessions

Low-income households will benefit from the Victorian Government’s Winter Energy Concessions this year.

Between May and November, eligible people can receive 17.5% off three gas bills and two electricity bills.

People with a Pensioner Concession Card, Health Care or Gold Card (except those marked "Dependent") will be eligible for concessions on their winter energy bills.

People claiming a Winter Energy Concession need to present their concession card when paying their electricity or gas bill.

In 1997-98, more than 647,000 households throughout Victoria benefited from Winter Energy Concessions.

For more details, contact your gas or electricity supplier, the Human Services Department's Concessions Information Line on 9616 7600 or toll free 1 800 658 521.
