$11.8 million for school maintenance
Victorias government schools are to receive a further $11.8 million for maintenance work. The money takes the total allocation of Physical Resource Maintenance System (PRMS) grants for school maintenance in 1998/99 to $77.7 million. 113 schools would share in the $11.8 million. Late last year Mr Gude announced maintenance grants of $56.6 million and in March a further allocation of $9.3 million. The maintenance grants are on top of a $99 million allocation for capital upgrades in schools announced in the State Budget. (News Release, Office of the Minister for Education, May 13, 1999)
