Industry network for software developers
Victorian software developers and producers now have access to a national network providing engineering technology, information and services including education and training, technical problem solving and applied research. The Parliamentary Secretary, Treasury and Multimedia, Robert Clark, today launched the Victorian branch of Software Engineering Australia (SEA) in Melbourne on behalf of industry representatives. SEAs activities will include delivering workshops and technical resources to assist software companies and developers, establishing a benchmark of excellence for the Australian industry, and providing peer support. The SEA network was established with funding from the Commonwealth Department of Communication, Information Technology and Arts and will establish centres in all Australian states. The Victorian Government has funded the Victorian branch of SEA to develop a business plan and will continue to support its industry initiatives.
