On-line Business Licence Information Service upgraded
An upgraded version of the Victorian Governments Business Licence Information Service (BLIS), which provides information on licensing, permits and registrations, predominantly for people intending to operate a business in Victoria, has been launched. BLIS combines three tiers of government licensing information. It has information on more than 600 generic business activities. Information ranges from basic licences required by almost all businesses such as Business Name Registration to licences required for a specific business initiative. Licence application forms with full details of all that is required can be e-mailed, faxed or posted in a tailored BLIS report to existing business clients and new starters. Launching the upgraded service, Small Business and Tourism Minister Louise Asher, said BLIS provided compliance information for clients at all stages of their business development and did not overload them with unnecessary information. BLIS can be accessed by following the licensing prompts to the BLIS information on Business Channel, at www.business.channel.vic.gov.au; by calling 1800 136 034; or by visiting a Victorian Business Centre or First Place Office.
