New Victorian Auditor-General
Mr John Wayne Cameron has been appointed as the new Victorian Auditor-General following the retirement of Mr Ches Baragwanath. Mr Cameron has been the Deputy Controller and Auditor-General of New Zealand since 1985. He began his career with the New Zealand Audit Office in 1966 and has since held a variety of senior positions. Under the Audit Act, Mr Cameron is appointed for seven years and will be an independent officer of the Victorian Parliament. He will take up his post on Monday, September 20, 1999.
