Thirty-five bush nursing hospitals and centres around Victoria are to share more than $2.58 million in Victorian Government funding to upgrade facilities and buy new equipment.

Key projects to receive support include:

  • The building of a replacement bush nursing hospital at Lake Bolac ($100,000).
  • Primary health centres at Violet Town ($279,000) and Birchip ($100,000).
  • New nursing home facilities on the Mornington Peninsula ($230,000).
  • Refurbishment of a nursing home in Macedon Ranges Shire ($220,000).
  • A new activities centre at Tongala ($100,000).

The next round of funding for the centres will be announced next year, following a further call for applications on projects.
