Regional Services Unit opened in Broadmeadows

The Premier, Mr Kennett, has opened the new Regional Services Unit of global telecommunications company Ericsson at the company’s former manufacturing base in Broadmeadows.

The unit will employ more than 1000 staff providing customer assistance across the Asia-Pacific region, including education, software, hardware and tender and sales support.

"The Regional Service Unit is one of only three worldwide, complementing facilities in the United States and the Netherlands. It is part of a significant refocus of Ericsson’s operations in Victoria," the Premier said.

The unit will service the needs of Ericsson users in 22 countries, including China, India, Japan, Indonesia and Singapore.
